Restaurant Menu QR Code

A menu QR code takes diners from the table to your menu in one scan. Make one below by pasting your menu's link — it's free, it never expires, and it will still work on the day you retire. The trick to updating the menu later: point the code at a link you control.

How to set up a menu QR code

  1. Put your menu at a stable linkHost the menu at an address you control — yourcafe.com/menu, a Google Drive PDF, or your Instagram. The link is what the code opens.
  2. Generate the code abovePaste the link, download the PNG. It happens in your browser and the code is yours forever.
  3. Brand it in the appAdd your logo and colors in Inkcode, then export SVG so the print shop gets crisp vector art.
  4. Print for the tableTable tents, stickers, or a corner of the paper menu. Laminate — the code outlives the paper.

The expiring-menu trap (and how to avoid it)

Plenty of restaurants have learned this the hard way: menu codes made with dynamic-QR subscription services stop working when the subscription lapses — the code on every laminated table tent suddenly points nowhere, and the printed stock becomes waste. Some services also cap scans on free tiers or show ads before the menu loads.

The fix is boring and permanent: use a static code that encodes a linkyou control. The code above never expires because there's nothing to expire — no account, no plan, no server between the scan and your menu. When the menu changes, you change the page behind the link, not the code.

Make it look like your restaurant

The free code above is plain black-and-white, and that's fine for a first print. When you want the code to match the menu design — your logo in the middle, colors that fit the brand, and vector SVG your print shop will thank you for — that's what the Inkcode app does, with a live preview so you can test-scan before printing.

Menu QR questions

Will this menu code expire?

No. It's a static code — the link is baked into the code itself, with no subscription keeping it alive. Codes from dynamic-QR services stop working when the plan lapses; this one can't.

How do I update my menu without reprinting?

Point the code at a link you control (like yourcafe.com/menu or a Drive PDF) and update what's behind the link. The printed code keeps working; only the menu behind it changes.

Don't I need a dynamic QR code for a menu?

Only if you want scan analytics or to redirect the code to a different address later. For a menu, a static code pointing at your own stable link does the same job — without the monthly fee or the risk of the code dying.

Does it track my customers?

No. There is no tracking layer — the code goes straight from the camera to your menu. Some QR menu platforms log every scan with device and location data; this one is just a link.

PDF menu or web page?

A simple web page is friendlier on phones (no pinch-zooming a PDF). But a PDF at a stable link works fine and is easier to maintain — start there if in doubt.
